Meet the Team

Crystal Thom
Receptionist
Crystal joined the team in December 2022 as one of our receptionists. Crystal has extensive receptionist experiences and has looked after many animals over the years including 27 stray cats! Crystal enjoys feeding the local wildlife including hedgehogs and birds. Her hobbies include gardening and hiking.
Norma Beveridge
Receptionist
Norma joined the team in December 2022 as one of our receptionists. Norma has extensive administration experience. Norma has three dogs - a border collie and two pugs who love getting out to explore.
Marslaidh Smith BVM&S MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon & Practice Owner
Marslaidh started helping out at her local vet practice in 1977 and from then on she knew that she wanted to be a vet. She graduated from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in 1994 and has been working in practice ever since. Marslaidh became the owner of Riverside Veterinary Clinic, Stirling in 2011 and opened a second practice in Callander in 2014. Her life long love and dedication to the care of animals has helped to make Riverside the practice it is today.

Niamh Weir RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Niamh graduated as registered veterinary nurse from Oatridge in 2021 and joined the practice in May 2021.
She has a keen interest in our geriatric patients and has a soft spot for any cavaliers :-)
In her spare time she enjoy paddle boarding, hill walking and enjoys exploring new hobbies.
Sylvia Stout
Sylvia is a massive asset to the team with a wealth of experience, knowledge and skills derived from a lifetime of working with animals. Assistant manager of a dog and cat quarantine and boarding kennels for 17 years, she then ran her own dog walking, pet sitting and mobile dog grooming business before joining us at Riverside Callander as a dog groomer. Now retired from grooming Sylvia continues to be a familiar face in practice, providing support in all areas of the business from welcoming clients at reception to assisting the vets and nurses with patients.

Beverley qualified from Preston College in 1994 with NVQ in Veterinary Nursing while working for a practice in Falkirk where she then spent twenty years working for a practice before joining the Riverside team in May 2021 as an RVN before taking over the role of Head Nurse.
She has an interest in geriatric patients particularly feline patients and medical cases.
In her spare time Beverley enjoys walking around Callander with her Labrador Sasha and spending time with her family.
